Plants small, glossy, in silver tufts, 0.7-1.5 mm long; leaves closely imbricate, concave, obovate from a narrow base, margin entire, tip sharp-pointed; costa faint, ending far below the apex; cells rhomboid at upper half, poor in chlorophyll, thin walled, lower leaves chlorophyllose, bordered by small, linear cells, smaller than the inner quadrate cells; seta 2 cm long; capsule horizontal to hanging, brownish, 1.2 mm long; spores numerous, rounded, brownish, 7-10 µm in diameter.
