📚 Overview
Description
Erect, branched herbs, up to 75 m tall; stems striate, 4-angled, appressed-pubescent. Leaves 2.5-7 x 2.5-4.5 cm, ovate-rhomboid or ovate-deltoid, base acute, apex obtuse or acute, appressed-pubescent on both surfaces; petiole 2-3 mm long; stipules foliaceous, 5-10 mm long, ovate to falcate. Flowers up to 1.5 cm long, terminal or leaf-opposed racemes; pedicels 3-5 mm long; bracts lanceolate. Calyx 0.7-1 cm long, pubescent, with deltoid, acute lobes longer than the tube. Corolla blue or white; standard c. 1.2 cm long, broadly ovate; wings obovate; keels oblong. Staminal sheath to 6 mm long; filaments c. 5 mm long. Ovary stipitate, appressed pubescent; style geniculate. Pods 2.5-3.5 x 0.8-1 cm, oblong-cylindrical, inflated, 10-16-seeded. Seeds 3-4.5 x 3-4 mm, obliquely cordiform, yellowish to brownish.
