Description
Latin name: Podranea ricasoliana
Flowering: July- November
Dimensions: Maximum height 5- 7m.
It is a type of bignonia and is a climbing plant, which can, however, also be used as a shrub. It is a fast growing plant. It has dark green foliage, slightly toothed and is semi- evergreen or deciduous, depending on the area and temperatures. Its trunk is semi- woody, like almost all begonias, and it has intense flowering from mid and late summer to all autumn, while in regions with a mild climate it can last all year. Its flowers are trumpet- shaped, pink or purple. Resistant to drought and to the saltiness of the sea, it prefers fertile and well- drained soils, as well as sunny or semi- shaded planting spots.
