About Fig
Did you know that all plants in the Ficus genus produce figs? In fact, the word Ficus quite literally means figs! Even cooler, all figs are pollinated by tiny wasps that use the fruits as a safe place to raise their young. 🐝 Ficus plants also contain latex which emerges as a milky sap when twigs are broken. This latex makes them toxic, so be sure to keep a close eye out if you have children or pets!

Finding light for Fig in your home
Fig love being close to bright, sunny windows 😎.
Place it less than 1ft from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Fig does not tolerate low-light 🚫.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Fig in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Fig
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Fig after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Willow is a 5’ tall, leggy Fiddle Leaf Fig. Between being in a spot where she wasn’t getting enough light and a colder than normal fall and winter in Florida, she lost a lot of leaves. She has since moved to a spot with more light but not too much direct sun, and has been there for a few weeks. She seems to like this spot and is responding well. Can any of my #FiddleLeafFig experts tell me: 1. Is it safe to begin notching without stressing her? 2. How many notches I can make without stressing her. 3. Notching method. I’ve never done this before!

Grow light recommendations #GrowLights #Ficus #NewPlants #FicusRuby #HappyPlants hello everyone, I’m brand new to grow lights, so no idea about them. Looking for one that would look nice in a living room. I have this new rubber ruby and I think will need some extra light in the bottom half. Amazon has some that stand and can be made shorter or longer. But I’m not sure of the type of light they emit. This is one of the ones I’m looking at. https:// . Or . https:// this style I’ve seen 20 and 40 watt. But no idea of what the plant needs. She’s facing east and the condo has another condo right across. So light is limited. . Edit to add, this app really needs a search function. 2nd edit to add, decided to go for this one. Is the only one I found that looks somewhat decent in the living room. Is really bright. So bright, that from ware I sit to work, I see it from the side, and I’m not sure if my eyes willwil be able to handle it long term. We’ll see. wolezek Grow Lights for Indoor... https://

What am I doing wrong? I have an easy plant pot for my fiddle leaf plant but it seems like the bottom leaves droop and the top ones grow well and spring up. I have it next to the window which gets decent sunlight but wondering what I’m doing wrong. Also the edges of the leaves brown quickly. I have learned this is not a low maintenance plant to care for as a beginner.
