Porcellionides pruinosus ‘Red Koi’ is one of the easiest isopods to keep and breed and – along to their beautiful pied brick-red / white colors – they are the best invertebrate pet for kids. The “powdery” appearance is common to all Porcellionides pruinosus isopods. Since they are exceptionally prolific isopods, a heavy populated colony can also serve as feeders to other invertebrates (tarantulas), amphibians and reptiles that feed on insects and small invertebrates. The ‘Red Koi’ isopods differ from the ‘Orange Koi’ by having a brick-red color, in contrast to a very light orange color of the ‘Orange Koi’.
