Begonia coccinea, the scarlet begonia, is a species of plant in the Begoniaceae family. It is native to the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. It is native to Brazil where it is located in the Atlantic Forest distributed in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Taxonomy Begonia coccinea was described by William Jackson Hooker and published in Botanical Magazine 69: pl. 3990. 1843.
