Summary[edit]

Description
English: Dicranopteris linearis. Common names: Resam (Malay). Uluhe Fern. Climbing Fern. False Staghorn. Old World Forked Fern.

The Arabs used to make pens using the stipe of this fern hence its common name "resam" ("to delineate" in Arabic). This common fern is hardy and grows well in nutrient-depleted soils. Resam thickets suppress the growth of other plants and dominate gaps in the forest floor. They can be removed by burning.

Medicinal usage: used to treat fever.
