The Cook Islands is a self-governing island country in the South Pacific Ocean in free association with New Zealand. It comprises 15 islands whose total land area is 240 km2. The Cook Islands' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) covers 1,800,000 km2 of ocean. Capital city: Avarua, Currency: Cook Islands dollar / New Zealand dollar (NZD).

The Cook Islands consist of 15 islands and two reefs.

The dollar is the currency of the Cook Islands. The dollar is subdivided into 100 cents, although some 50 cent coins carry the denomination as "50 tene".
