Southern Giant-petrel (Macronectes giganteus)

Was on a whale tour out from Puerto Piramides (Peninsula Valdez, Argentina) when we passed some Southern Giant-petrels. I don't consider myself as a Bird in flight shooter, but believe that these are acceptable. The bird is known to fly just above the surface at a rather high pace, the bird in the picture is a young specimen, it will turn darker when grown up.

These look fantastic Niels. Incredible animals, very violent! Small changes in commercial fishing practices have halted their decline and now they do quite well.
