Back and anal fin with yellow base line. Yellow vertical stripe on caudal fin, yellow tail blade.

Habitat : Prefers outreefs, 1-60 m. Frequently in low depths beneath the surf regions. Territorial, grazes on blanket-weed algae on hard ground.
Distribution : Cocos Keeling, Christmas Island, Western Australia to SW Japan, Hawaii, Panama and French Polynesia.
