Soda Apple - Solanum capsicoides - circa 1845 - Used in colder regions of Australia as a rootstock for perennial eggplant (Solanum melongena) trees. Grafting makes plants that are annual in cold climates into perennials. Layer of flesh under the skin is very tasty.
