The Acanthurus leucosternon x nigricans, also known as the Hybrid Tang Fish, is a hybrid species resulting from a cross between Acanthurus leucosternon and Acanthurus nigricans. The coloration of this hybrid can vary, incorporating traits from both parent species.
A tank of at least 600 litres with ample swimming space and territories is required to accommodate this hybrid fish. It has a semi-aggressive temperament and may exhibit territorial behavior, especially towards other tangs and surgeonfish.
The Hybrid Tang is a herbivore and should be offered a diet rich in marine algae and vegetation. Feeding them dried algae tied to a rock or using a vegetable clip is recommended. Provide food multiple times a day to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
