Common Name The Far Apart Habenaria [Refers to the basal leaves being apart from the inflorescence]
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in S Florida, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia and Argentina in humid forests in moss at elevations of 1000 to 1900 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with a 2 to 6, in a basal rosette, with another smaller one sometimes further up , elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, 2.4 to 5" [6 to 12.5 cm] long, laxly 6 to 10 flowered inflorescence
Similar to H herminioides, H cogniauxiana and H millei which all have a basal rosette of leaves.
