General Information

COMMON NAMES: Lowfin Rudderfish, Long-finned Drummer, Brassy Chub, Blue Sea Chub, Long-finned Drummer; German Messing-Ruderfisch; French Saupe Grise à Lignes Jaunes, alicagère Bleue

TRADITIONAL NAMES: Nanue (AK PK?), Nanuē (TS TW)

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Tuamotus, Hawai‘i; n. to N.Marianas; s. to Rapa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group common, N.Group ?uncommon. PLUS:; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: To 60cm SL. High-oval, with large symetrical tail. Dorsal with uniform height. Silvery-grey, with narrow bronze stripes. Tail and hind-Dorsal and Anal generally dark. Dorsal X-XI, 13-15; gill rakers 9-11+20-24=31-35.
