General Information

COMMON NAMES: Tongareva Goby

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Maldives - n.Cooks, Hawai‘i; n. to Marshalls; s. to s.GBR; (Disjunct)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, lagoon - reef-slope, to 10m, on sand

KEY FEATURES: To 3cm SL. Blunt faced with very large eyes. Dorsal fins as high as body depth, with dark spots. Body pale brown with faint spots. Scan imge from Fowler paper (on file).
